What a year! Compassionate and extremely motivated students working around the clock, partnerships across the globe, book drives, karaoke nights, movie nights, all-you-can eat Indian buffets, a cooking class, , a Mega fashion show in Sydney, a dance-a-thon (oh! Yes did we dance… it was for a good cause after all), meetings, more meetings, planning, booking, calling, stressing…. And more planning.
Well, the end result was well worth the hard work. This year the Abhilasha Project donated over $14,000 to the Abhilasha School.
IN Canada, the students at Marianopolis College, McGill university and University of Ottawa worked hard all year long by organizing fundraisers and continuing to create awareness about the plight of children with disabilities around the world. Our volunteers shared their passion for education and development with their fellow peers throughout the academic year. We would like to thank are truly amazing volunteers for their continued efforts and hard work. We couldn’t have done it without all of you!
IN Australia, over $10,000 was raised by the amazing students of the ACT team (“A Common Thought”, formerly known as Party for Poverty) at the University of Sydney. Words fail to express how grateful we are towards each and every volunteer in Sydney who worked relentlessly to make each and every event for Abhilasha a huge success. And succeed they did. The Runway for Hope fashion show was an evening to remember, raising over $8,500 for the Abhilasha School. They are an amazing group- compassionate, efficient, fun, and hardworking. They are changing the world one step at a time. We wish them continued success and happiness.
