Dear uOttawa Community,
Want to do something amazing with that textbook you can no longer use and the bookstore can’t buy back? We have a solution that benefits our campus, the earth, and students around the world! Seriously!
Be Green! Be responsible! Help improve global literacy and divert books from the landfill.
Donate your unwanted college-level books published within the past 10 years (highlighting/writing in books is fine), and any books used in a college class to our book drive. The Abhilasha Project has partnered with Better World Books (www.betterworldbooks.com) to run a book drive at the University of Ottawa from April 8th-29th that will raise funding for literacy initiatives. We would love to have your support!
Books collected will be sold online to raise a sustainable stream of funding for Books for Africa (www.booksforafrica.org). If the books cannot be donated or sold, they are at the very least recycled. Book drives like this one have raised millions of dollars for different literacy initiatives around the world.
Drop Box Locations: All around campus (University centre, residence halls, Fauteux library entrance, SITE, Perez, Simard, Desmarais, Lamoureux)
