ABHILASHA PROJECT RAISES $300 THROUGH A BOOK DRIVE

ON MAY 4TH, the dedicated team of the Abhilasha club at the University of Ottawa gathered their energy and strength to collect hundreds of books donated by generous peers for the first ever Abhilasha Project Book Drive. A part of our proceeds were also donated to Room to Read in support of literacy programs in Asia.

The book drive was organized in collaboration with Better World Books. “The program has already raised millions of dollars for literacy and diverted millions of books from landfills. The rest of the story is still being written." The Abhilasha team in Ottawa was proud to come together to support literacy around the world.

The Ottawa Chapter will be planning another book drive this year and hopes to raise even more funds. If you would like to volunteer, please email Amena Ali at abhilasha.project@yahoo.com.
