| The
mission of the Abhilasha Project is to provide a quality
education to underprivileged and handicapped children
in India and in the future to children from other
developing nations. Through these efforts, we are
striving to foster a sense of self-sufficiency and
empower the children through vocational training with
marketable skills in addition to their classical educational
curriculum.
Our ultimate goal is to enable these children to return
to their communities and contribute to society as
self-reliant citizens.
Also, we are striving to address, whenever possible,
other issues affecting human life such as health care,
environment, socio-economic aspects and women's issues.
To achieve these goals, we hope to encourage the
formation of various local groups across the world
to reach out to larger sections of the population.
In addition at the Abhilasha Project, we believe in
supporting and cooperating with persons and groups
already engaged in similar activities. We also hope
to provide opportunities to individuals living outside
India who wish to participate in Abhilasha activities
within the country.
