Abdullah Yusuf - Founder and President of the Abhilasha School for the blind and handicapped

Abdulla Yusuf started the institution in August of 1995 with only one child and now there are more than 141 children at the school. They are given free lodging, boarding, education, vocational training and medical aid. The Abhilasha school has completed twelve years of dedicated service to the physically challenged children of the Chattisgarh province, most of whom come from families who live below the poverty line.

Mr. Yusuf believes in the power of education and providing equal opportunity and status in society to all children regardless of social class, religion, gender or race. The school provides a good education and proper medical treatment to children who otherwise would be deprived of these basic human rights. Abdulla Yusuf’s work is commendable and through it he is impacting the lives of hundreds of children in India.
