ABHILASHA INVITED TO OTTAWA´S YOUTH FOR CHANGE CONFERENCE
February 8th, 2010

On February 8th, 2010, Co-founders of the Abhilasha Project, Maria and Amena Ali, attended the resource fair at CAYFO’s Ottawa Youth for Change conference, entitled Are We There Yet? Reaching the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. The Conference was held at Confederation High School.

Child and Youth Friendly Ottawa (CAYFO) is an Ottawa based charity that aims to help empower youth to get involved within their community. Youth for Change is one of CAYFO’s programs, which takes CAYFO’s mission one step further by inspiring youth to take action on global issues.

The Youth for Change Are We There Yet? Conference aims to discuss the world’s progress on achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), as well as help them find the right tools to take action for further progress.

About 150 high school students attended the Conference. The resource fair allowed participating organizations to showcase and promote their projects and recruit volunteers.
